Camping at Milson Island 20th April – 22nd April 2007
On Friday afternoon, 30 of us left Bankstown for Milson Island. After 2 hours on the bus and 30 minutes on the ferry, we arrived at Milson Island where we stayed for the weekend.
Upon arrival, girls and boys were separated into their lodges :-(. After dinner, we headed to the hall for some silly kids’ games. To my surprise, everyone got right into it with no hesitations, including myself. I guess mentally we are still kids :-)
At 08:00am on Saturday, everyone (well almost every one) was up and ready for Breakfast. After breakfast, we split into two groups. Each group had to participate in 4 activities.
*Wall/Rock climbing - Best work out for arms and legs and, not to mention, one girl turned into a spider woman, hehe.
*Ropes - Guaranteed to help you wobble, should you ever want to wobble your legs and arms :-)
*Kayaking - For a hot day, you might as well get wet. For those that were really hot, they decided to get rid of their boat and go for a swim, even when they don't know how to swim. Not to mention names, but it's spelt M...A...R...T...I…N.
*Archery - This is to help guys concentrate and AIM.
After a long and tiring day, we had a lovely BBQ dinner, heaps of Steaks, Sausages and Veggies.
Crews at Milson Island are just amazing, fun and friendly.
After dinner, most of us went to search for ghost/s. However, some were too afraid so ended up staying in bed hugging their pillow. Besides Cam and Phuong who couldn't sleep after hearing my scream, I think everyone else loved it.
We ended Saturday night with Trivia, dares including lap dancing (lol) and, last but not least, Charades. I think girls won...hmm can't remember now. All I can remember is Girls can agree about everything. Sorry guys we can be a pain in the butt at times, or maybe all the time. But then you need us to be entertained.
The weekend ended with some fun games that Martin came up with.
Overall, it was a fantastic weekend, full of joy and laughter.
Every single one of us left with sore arms, sore legs and lack of sleep. However, it was definitely worth it. I believe we all left Milson Island with joy, laughter and best of all, with new friendships.
I would like to say a big, massive thank you to Martin, Michael, Phuong and Thanh Nien group.
Lots of Love,
Helen
