Tinh Tam Spiritual Retreat 62

Friday, February 29th 2008

Below are the group photos

I am not yet a Catholic but am in the process of learning about the faith. Tinh Tam no. 62 was an important milestone in my journey of discovery.

I came to St Joseph’s Retreat Centre with no big expectations, but as I was already intrigued by the faith I thought a weekend like this could point me in the right direction.

I’d never attended anything like this before but I can sincerely say I enjoyed every minute of it and gained a great deal from the experience.

It was particularly reassuring to know that I had a group of like-minded people to support me on my journey of discovering my faith. The theme of this retreat was Create in Me a New Heart and by the end of 2 days I really did feel as though something new and wonderful had been created in me.

Of all the activities that we engaged in that weekend I was especially moved by Father Tim Deeter’s talk on the beatitude: Blessed are those who are pure of heart, for they shall see God. It felt at times as though he was speaking directly to me. In combination with other parts of the retreat Father Deeter’s talk made it clearer to me the purpose and meaning of my existence. For that I am extremely grateful.

If I were to nominate the single most important thing that I got out of the weekend it would be that I should make it my main goal in life to get to Heaven, to be in God’s presence.

I sincerely thank LDTNCG, especially the organisers of this Tinh Tam, for putting on such a meaningful event. Your attention to detail and dedication was not lost on me. Special thanks to members of Tinh Tam Group 62 who made the experience so enjoyable. I hope you got as much out of the retreat as I did.
