The retreat Footprints in the sand (Tinh Tam 63) was a huge success!! Special thanks must go to Father Hong for travelling all the way from Perth to be our special guest speaker. Thanks Father Hong!!

We would also like to thank Father Liem for his presence, support and guidance in organising this retreat. Father Liem is also Thanh Nien’s spiritual guide. Without Father Liem we would not have been able to organise such a successful retreat.

Organising any event require a team of passionate, committed and dedicated people. So a BIG thank you to our Core Team – Michael Vu, Martin Bui, Viet Anh Vu, Brandon Le, Khang Nguyen, Vi Phung, Thuc Tran and David Vu and our key supporters – Ann Tran, Harry Chow, Maria Ngo and Mary Giang.

Of course without the attendees we would not have a retreat. Thank you to all attendees for taking time out of your busy lives to attend and participate so enthusiastically in all activities. It makes our job as organizer that much more rewarding and enjoyable.

So enjoy the videos + pictures + testimonies

Until the next event – God Bless all!!
Thanh Nien team.

Testimonies from the retreat...

" This retreat has been a very uplifting and spiritual experience. Nice weather, nice food, nice people. Meet a lot of new people and would be nice to have this more often "

" Thank you to Thanh Nien organizers. The retreat was very fun, made new friends and learnt a little more about myself. High recommend all to come to the next retreat "

" Thank you for providing a retreat which helps some people like myself find that little bit of extra peace in my life for a relaxing weekend & and help with my spiritual well being also. To learn that suffering is also love, I came up with a quote. “never be unhappy when you are
suffering. Remember that for your suffering days, maybe 10 other people may enjoy a happy peaceful day because we all share the suffering together. A little bit of sacrifice goes a long way. "

" It’s a nice change not being the one organising things! It was also great making new friends and hopefully strengthen those friendships at future events! "

" We’re almost always distracted by work responsibilities, friends, the media, clubbing, drinking, relationships etc and this retreat was a great opportunity to finally relax and really become ourselves without all the stresses of everyday life. It allowed me to open up to God. I’m really grateful for that. Plus everyone was friendly! "

" Thanks Fr Hong, Fr Liem & Thanh Nien for a great retreat. We had a lot of fun for the last couple of days. Personally, the retreat given me a different perspective of life. I have realised that happiness is within and that we’ll enjoy our life more if we live a simple life with less expectation. "

“ 'My Best' that’s all that is asked of us, nothing more nothing less. Who cares about getting things exactly perfect, there’s no such thing as perfect. During this retreat the footprints that struck me were the image of footprints in the sand, it allows us to be free but what prints do we give, my best foot but God will use the prints to wash them and write them with others in the vast ocean. The past we can’t hold or change, the future we can’t predict. But it’s the present experience we have that creates who we become. "
